At our next MTQG meeting we will be distributing quilts that need quilting and/or binding, and we will be collecting quilts that members have quilted. Due to limited space we will not be able to sell fabric at the June meeting.
Our next Community Quilts meeting is Monday, June 22. We hope to see you there. We will be cutting batting and making backs for the many quilt tops that our members have made.

Sheriff’s Visit
“Today we had a special guest from the Yavapai Sheriff’s Office, Captain Jared Winfrey. He came to thank the guild for providing quilts to their offices throughout Yavapai County. His stories (and mixing up blankets for quilts) had us either laughing or crying.
He shared how our quilts comforted, especially children, who survive car crashes when their parents didn’t, children affected by Narcotics raids or removed from homes where there was all types of abuse. They also work directly with the schools and other agencies to bring awareness of a child’s trauma so they can receive help, support and counseling. He shared a personal story about adopted children receiving quilts and still having them years later.
Thanks Community Quilts for making this possible!
He presented Diane Stockhaus a certificate of appreciation for the Guild’s support signed by Sheriff Rhodes.”

We’d like to announce the winners of the 2026 Community Quilts Challenge. We received 15 entries, all featuring the black and white printed fabric. We will award the ribbons at the June 15th meeting.

The ECHOS program is offered to Mountain Top Quilters members usually during the afternoon following the general meeting. Instruction in different techniques or information on how to do various projects is presented. An MTQG member free of charge or for a nominal fee to cover the cost of supplies incurred by the instructor. You do not need to sign up for demonstrations, just come by, watch, and ask questions.
All ECHOS sessions are free and held directly after the regularly scheduled Guild meetings. See Programs table for sign up information or any questions.
If you have an idea for a demonstration see Ronnie Sandoval

April 13, 2026
Ronnie Sandoval will have you experiment with different needles, needle threaders and threads.
Collection of placemats continues June through November. Approximately 25 are delivered to the Prescott Meals on Wheels program on a monthly basis. An additional 60 are given to the Prescott Valley Happy Meals group for the December Holidays. Please avoid any religious themes. Patriotic themes are wonderful—specific political themes are not. The recipients really enjoy knowing that their handmade placemats come from a local group, so please put the MTQG labels on the back.
Thank you to all who have been so generous in supporting this wonderful endeavor.
MTQG Mini Groups are smaller interest-based groups that meet at various times and locations in addition to the large monthly guild meeting. Listed are the MTQG current Mini Groups to show how much creative activity goes on behind the scenes at MTQG. Interested in a group(s), Please reach out to the contact person for information regarding availability as the groups may be full. Members are encouraged to check them out and see if there is a spot in one (or more) of these mini groups. This is a great chance to enjoy friendships, share ideas, and support one another in a smaller group setting.

On Monday, June 1, a group of us went to the Prescott Library and hung a display of patriotic quilts in the Viewerie. We put up all of the President’s Challenge quilts from the Quilt Show. We also included a Quilt of Valor and many other patriotic quilts all made by members of MTQG. It took a couple of hours to put up the various quilts resulting in a beautiful display. The quilts will be on display at the Prescott Library from June 1st until June 30th. Shown below: Diane Stockhaus, Karin Toci, Charlotte Maris, Ronnie Sandoval, Susan
Perry and Susan Ryan.
Youth meetings are every Tuesday from 3:30- 5:30 Currently there are 10 members. New members will make a little Charm Quilt. This year the members are learning how to make a thread basket and a stuffed frog.
If you wish to volunteer to help mentor the kids, contact me. You can help weekly or monthly and know a little or a lot. You can also help by volunteering to teach them a new, kid-friendly skill or longarming a quilt.
