January 2021 Program “Board Trunk Show”

January 2021 Program Mountain Top Board Members Trunk Show

It was a very special program to start the new year off. These talented members showing their quilting skills in addition to volunteering as our Board for Mountain Top Quilters Guild.

Here is the stories behind the quilts:

The quilts I presented are all made of fabric from Frond Designs fabric company. The flower prints are all from Stephanie Brandenburg. I started with the large flowers while I still lived in Colorado. I love the bright colors and there are coordinating prints and solids. I found the fabric on the modern quilt at the Houston Quilt Show in 2019. Same company different designer. Suzy  Davidson

I started quilting in 2015. I was intrigued by the beautiful quilts I saw, but I did not know how to sew! I started with panels and adding borders, and with practice my quilt repertoire grew! Maureen Carr

I shared many of her quilts from the beginning of my quilting journey in 1988 to current quilts displayed the early quilts that I hand-quilted to the current ones, which are almost exclusively machine quilted.  Patterns ranged from geometrics to flowers to art quilts. My first quilts were always large bed sized (twin to queen).  Taking quilting classes through the guild inspired me to begin making smaller wall hangings along with the larger bed-sized quilts.  Through my son’s high school band experiences, I began making T-shirt quilts for family, friends and clients, along with teaching the process at local quilt shops.  I continue to quilt but also like to sew clothing, home goods and utility items, along with teaching whenever I can.                                            Diana Ramsey
