Wow! What a wonderful quilt show. I am so proud to be a part of all that you do. I know it wasn’t perfect and there are a lot of improvements that could be made, but overall, I think it was a huge success. I hope you agree with me.
Some preliminary information: The Raffle Baskets were a huge success. I couldn’t believe all the people that gathered around as the winning tickets were drawn. Boutique had some wonderful new items and it was great to see them dwindle as the show progressed. I hope you were able to get some of your favorite things.
The Small Quilt Auction killed it once again. A few items didn’t sell, but overall, a huge success. A special thanks to our Auctioneer, Scott Short. Quilts with a Story again drew a large crowd for the readings that I saw. I sat in on one of the readings and was overcome with emotion by a few of the stories. I hope you got the opportunity to listen in. We had 22 vendors vending at the show. I
received numerous comments from several of them about how great the show was. We had at least 7 new vendors who had never been to our show before.
We sold two member quilts. This was a first for our show. I know one of our
improvements we can make is increasing the size of the For Sale tag so it grabs the viewer a bit more. We had over a dozen athletes from Prescott
High School help us on Wednesday afternoon, Thursday morning and Saturday evening. I don’t know how we could have done it without them and how we have done it without them. For sure we will be asking for their help again. Below are a few of them from the football team who helped load the trailer on Wednesday.
Cindy Kurey, our quilt appraiser, was so impressed with the artistic workmanship from our guild. She was elated to have been able to participate in our show and view and assess such beautiful quilts. She was truly a gem and I’m so glad we invited her to our show. Your appraisals should be returned to you via US Mail by the end of June. I know she did a whole lot of homework on each one of the appraised quilts prior to coming to the show. Thank you for allowing me to be your chairperson for this event.
