Lecture: “How Do I Quilt This?” Have you ever felt overwhelmed by the task of selecting quilting designs that are perfect for your quilt top?  Gina will take you through her process of reading quilts to choose the most appropriate quilt design path and style. She will also show you how to find inspiration for creative quilt motifs for all types of quilting from edge to edge to custom and ruler quilting!

In this hands-on class, Gina Perkes will guide you through the essentials of free motion ruler quilting, showing you how to create clean lines, graceful curves, and professional-looking designs using quilting rulers.

You’ll learn how to safely and confidently use rulers with your sewing machine, choose the right tools, and position your hands for smooth, controlled stitching. Gina will demonstrate a variety of ruler techniques and motifs, along with tips for troubleshooting common challenges like slipping, uneven stitches, and spacing.

This class is perfect for confident beginners who are comfortable with basic free motion quilting, as well as experienced quilters looking to expand their design skills. By the end of the class, you’ll have the confidence to incorporate ruler work into your quilts for borders, blocks, and all-over designs

Program: Helen Frost  “Finish it!”

The art and science of getting things done.  Astonished by her overwhelming number of unfinished projects, Helen turned to organizing and time-management experts. You’ll learn what she learned (and you’ll also enjoy some amazing before and after photos). Hear the humorous and enlightening story of how she conquered chaos, learned to prioritize, and got things done!

This is a great refresher course for those who want to improve their piecing. The Schoolhouse block is perfect for teaching precise seam allowances,
matching intersections, and easy set-in seams. Everything is already cut so just come and sew! You’ll leave with directions for a mini quilt, a crib quilt, and a

July 21, 2026 Full Day Workshop

Kit Fee: $15 (payable to
instructor on the day of class –
cash or check)

Achieve smooth bindings with perfect corners and learn a great method for joining the ends. You’ll also get great tips on preparing your quilt for binding.
You’ll make a sample of traditional binding then practice angled and scalloped edges. Try new “gourmet” bindings, such as two-color and faux piping. All quilted fabric and bindings are included in the kit.
