One of the goals of a quilt guild is to provide its members with learning experiences that they may use to develop quilting skills. These experiences are often best provided by lectures or workshops given by both national and local teachers. MTQG provides programs like these each month at general meetings.

Occasionally our meetings may be more social in nature, such as the spring luncheon or ice cream social, and our annual Christmas luncheon.

Quilts and quilting are always part of the day no matter what the occasion.

Scheduled programs and workshops will be presented here, but please see the easelprogram chairperson at general meetings for more information and to sign up for workshops you may be interested in taking.

Pam McMahon Program - April 18, 2016

Pam McMahonPam McMahon is a national pattern designer. Her designs are traditional, using both traditional blocks and fabrics.  She likes to use Reproductions or fabrics that have a “prairie” feel to them.  She finds using triangles, flying geese and stars allow the graphic design to “pop”.

Pam won “Best of Show” award at the Arizona Quilters Guild show in Mesa this March.

Her website can be seen here.

April 19: Pam McMahon Workshop

Pam taught a workshop about creating a feathered star. She said, “If you love feathered stars as much as I do, this quilt is for you. This 48” quilt requires accurate piecing skills. The extra effort is well worth the result! You will become proficient in making half-square triangles!”
