New Members Group:

Kristi McHugh is chairperson.

The  first meeting of the "Mountain Top Quilt Guild New Members Group was Thursday, August 22nd at 10:00 am. We met at "Cloth Plus" which is located in Prescott Valley at 6479 Copper Hill Rd.   We had an opportunity to see many of Whitney's beautiful quilts andl visited New Member Logowith her while we shopped, fondled or just got great ideas for our future quilts. Lynne gave a demonstration on different ways to make a basic block, and guild member Carol Miller gave us an insight into her quilting experience. Diana Ramsey, who was the current MTQG president, spoke about the guild's activities.

If you have joined MTQG in the last two years you are part of this group.  Any new members or potential new members are welcome at these gatherings, please invite them to join us for friendship, fun and education.  Reservations not necessary but a call or email to Krist McHugh if you plan to attend would be appreciated.

New Members Group next meeting: January 29

The MTQG Newcomers met on Wednesday November 8 at Cloth Plus in Prescott Valley.  It was a wonderful program and Whitney told how she and Bill started the business more than 18 years ago.  She showed many of her quilts and explained how they were made and quilted and the type of batting she used in each quilt to obtain the softness or loft.  Her passion came through and the group was inspired and overwhelmed with her talent. After show and tell by the newcomers, we shopped and Whitney gave a 10% discount to MTQG members.

Our next meeting is January 29 at 10:00  at "Quilt and Sew Connection".  The presentation called "Tools of the Trade" will focus on gadgets and new tools you can't live without. Bring your Show and Tell and in progress work.  If you are a newcomer to Mountain Top take time to come, meet and learn from other quilters.

Please contact Martie Winkleman or Karen Adams if you have any questions.
