One of the goals of a quilt guild is to provide its members with learning experiences that they may use to develop quilting skills. These experiences are often best provided by lectures or workshops given by both national and local teachers. MTQG provides programs like these each month at general meetings.

Occasionally our meetings may be more social in nature, such as the spring luncheon or ice cream social, and our annual Christmas luncheon.

Quilts and quilting are always part of the day no matter what the occasion.

Scheduled programs and workshops will be presented here, but please see the easelprogram chairperson at general meetings for more information and to sign up for workshops you may be interested in taking.

Margo McDonnell Program - September 19

Our own Margo McDonnell is an award winning quilt artist, experienced teacher, published author and a member of our guild! (She won the Viewer's Choice award for her quilt Moody Beach, Maine 1957at the AQS show in Phoenix) presented her program "Art for Art's Sake." We were shown some of her amazing, award winning quilts and heard about her creative process from choosing a photo to recreating it in fabric. September 20: Margo McDonnell Workshop

Margo McDonnell PhotoMargo offered a technique class to teach us how to transfer a picture from a photo to a small quilt.

She provided many of the supplies needed to enjoy a day of Margo McDonnell quilt fun and learning!

Margo's photo (on the left) became a beautiful quilt (on the right).
