The ECHOS program is offered to Mountain Top Quilters members during the afternoon following the general meeting. Instruction in different quilttechniques or information on how to do various projects is presented. The classes are usually taught by an MTQG member free of charge or for a nominal fee to cover the cost of supplies incurred by the instructor.

ECHOS was devised by Evelyn Russell in 2003. She and Jimmie Johnson continued to chair this important MTQG activity until July 2014. Jimmie has now retired, leaving Diane Stockhaus and Marie Willison to oversee ECHOS this year.

Upcoming Workshops:

October 16: No ECHOS program

November 20: Social Hour

For the November 2017 ECHOS meeting, we will be focusing on the Social aspects of the guild, by hosting a "Let's Get Acquainted" social. So many new members have joined the guild in the last year or two, adding skills and talents likely unknown to most of us...it's about time we learned more about our fellow quilters, and maybe your next best friend! All current members, guests and visitors are welcome to attend, following Carlotta Brandenburg's Trunk Show, in the church's Fellowship Hall.

Bring a sack lunch, and we will provide the cookies for dessert.  We have compiled a small number of ice-breaker questions, which can be used to help everyone make new friends. We also want to hear from you - our guild members - about what kind of demonstrations, workshops, and other short classes you are interested in, so that the ECHOS volunteers can schedule what you want to see and learn about.

If you are unable to attend the social, but have some good ideas you would like to share for consideration for future ECHOS sessions, please send them by email to the ECHOS coordinators (Diane Stockhaus and Marie Willison) or any board member.

We look forward to seeing you at the Social.

Watch for the listing of new ECHOS classes.

Co-chairpersons: Diane Stockhaus and Marie Willison

The July ECHOS workshop was the Walking Purse taught by
Sam Logan. See photos further down on this page.

We have several classes suggested for future months but none confirmed at this time.  Watch the ECHOS desk and the Newsletter for the next classes.

ATTENTION all you very clever MTQG quilters.  I know many of have cute - novel - quirky or innovative items that you could share with us at an ECHOS class.  Contact Jimmie Johnson to schedule a class.

If you find that you cannot attend a class that you have signed up for, please phone Jimmie Johnson so that others may attend.

Remember, there are no fees for these classes –they are presented to us by the skillful members of our own Guild. So just come and get lots of new ideas and learn some interesting tips and quilting skills.

ECHOS is a Mountain Top Quilters Guild activity for and by our members.

If you would like to teach a class, please contact
Jimmie Johnson, Jan Walls or Darlene Williams !
